Reflection on what happened in 2010 and my thoughts for 2011

I'm in the mood to look back on my highs and lows of 2010n it has been an interesting year one that will be remembered. It started with me asleep in bed with my ex Matthew Malone who I wanted to kill because he made my life hell. Then I left him to stay with my birth mother for 3 months in that time I started my modelling career and became the manager of the artist Redstrype.

I also had started to go out clubbing and enjoy the London nightlife. I then decided in March to give Matthew another chance at working on our relationship and it went from occasional slap to full out warfare leaving me permanently scarred. Then in late June I snapped and left him and fled London for the refuge of Scotland and lived with my grandparents and elder sister.
Started college again and made lots of friends and contacts. Fell in love with Paul and fell out of it when I realised I couldn't trust someone who doesn't trust me. Then a few days meet Dylan who made me realise that I found someone who supports and trusts me and wants to willing be involved in my career. Which for me is difficult as sometimes I either neglect the work or relationship.

Trying to find the balance has been hard but now I am getting the hang of it, I can continue in the new year with this new habit and routine. I have also learnt that no matter how ugly I find the scars littering my body, my true beauty comes from within. I am now a stronger and more sure person, I will follow my dreams with dogged determination.

My dreams, goals, plans for 2011 consist of being on the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, getting a degree in Drama and help launch and promote the music careers of others through my blog, focusing on lesser known and underground artists.

I am extremely grateful to every person who has supported me through the year, the list is endless but they know who they are. I am also grateful to every person across the globe who has read my blog, without you guys I wouldn't keep this blog alive. My average views per day is a hundred and because of this I will blog more often and actually write about myself intimately and professionally so I can inspire those to follow the same dreams as men and also have more interviews and reviews for you too.

My philosophy for 2011 is reach for the sky and fall amongst the stars. It is my readers and supporters that keep me grounded so thank you, you will always be in my heart. I can feel this year is going to be my year where I will become a household name, I am nearly there thanks to everyone. All I ask of you is to try to retweet or favourite my page and post to social network sites.

Much love and success to you all for 2011.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW - KAIZ LA KAZIE

This is a long awaited interview with one of the big stars of 2011 - Miss Kaiz La Kazie of East London. Enjoy and feel inspired because its nice for once to have an interview with a female grime artist and my favourite at that.

1. What inspired you to get into the grime scene?

I make my own genre, bubble grime, and it is totally based on the old school early noughties grime when I heard Kano, Wiley and Dizzee.. D Double E.. the list goes on ☺

2. How old were you when you first heard grime? and where were you?

I was around 12, I got lent a mix cd with all the classics on there like "Birds in the sky"[D Double E], "Boys love girls"[Kano].. "pumpum riddim".. it totally fucked up my world I must say… then that kano mixtape was good.. beats n bars .. that was special..

3. If you could collaborate with anyone in the scene who would it be?

Wow it would totally be Diz.. I play his 1st n 2nd   albums when I'm in the shower getting ready 4 work like every day.. trust.

4. Where's the strangest place you have created bars?

Probably that time I was sittin in the bathtub with some Baileys ;) but really? Anywhere possible..

5. What is your favourite tune you have created?

Erm… I like my real Bubble grime stuff.. anything that I have produced by myself im usually very proud of … I love making my own beats and knowing that its my own sound, not what someone else visualized.. if that makes sense

6. Who are your influences?

I love anyone that puts the work in, makes weird funny emotional sounds.. and writes about unusual stuff. I hate Clichés. When I hear a song, I want a verse to grow on me, so that when I sing it back to myself I realise the meanin of the words and go.. fuck! That's real clever..

7. If you didn't get into the music scene what would you rather do?

Well I'm a catering assistant [dinnerlady] now.. and I'm doin a fuckin great job..

I did want to work as a loan manager, but I'm sort of useless with numbers..

8. How much of your life and background influenced what you spit and write?

Well.. it is kind of boring that I'm a working class kid that has been brought up with middle class values.. I'm sorry.. not many legendary tales of the ghetto in my life.. I keep it real.. and real for me is working all day.. writing, performing and recording all night.. but I put all of that in my bars. Everyone feels pain. Everyone feels happiness. So that's what I write about all day. I mean, when I lived in archway I wrote the most resonant stuff coz that's what surrounded me. The way it could have crack heads, chicken burgers and the BMW's all on one street. How can you not write about that?

9. What tunes would you recommend to someone who has never listened to your music?

I would recommend that they listen to "Washing Powder" if they are in a blissful joyous mood, "Why Not" If they are feelin kinda lost.. "Tomorrow Morning"  if they are high in the sky.. [btw I don't encourage drug use [much] lol]

"Today" if they feeling insecure, "Invisible" If they are feelin broken, "I Like You" If they are feelin in love .. and the whole of Failure if they're really depressed. Hearing my high ass voice whingeing about how awful life is will make anyone feel better lol

10. Have there been any women in your life that have been an inspiration to you musically?

Miss Dynamite, Lauryn Hill, Jean Grae, Kate Tempest, oh my god the list goes on for years.. They all inspire different aspects of my creativity.

11. What advice would you give to anyone who wants to get into the scene?

Just keep going to events, pushing, promoting, calling, performing, even when it feels like no-one wants you.. they will eventually. And never doubt yourself. Coz if you do, then they will.

12. Is there anyone in the scene you respect and anyone you also hate?

Loads of people have my respect… I do have to give it to the female artists that work so hard to be equal whilst appearing composed, immaculate, flawless, when the harshest comments are dealt, or when the biggest discriminations are apparent. I think that everyone deserves their voice to be heard, I don't think hating on anyone is relevant..

13. Do you think that grime could survive if MCs didn't spit about violence and the degradation of women?

Well.. it seems nowadays people are realizing that spittin like that doesn't get them ratings and they look a lil bit silly.. so they're movin on from topics like those.. grime has been around for just under 10 years now,  so I believe grime will survive and make it big.. lets just hope the right people carry it on their backs!

14. Do you think that drugs play a major role in the scene for instance spitting about weed or even posing with a joint?

Sometimes. Earlier in like 2003 etc, it was just standard to have a leetle spleef n spit a few bars wid ur mates in the block, but I suppose grime has grown up, its more gonna kick back with a glass of rum n coke now. Mmm rum n coke.. or Malibu n coke … yum..

15. What do you think of the grime artists who have gone commercial like NDubz, Tinchy Stryder, Plan B, Chipmunk and Wiley? Do you think that has helped grime or killed it?

Well I appreciate that they have made their journeys into the mainstream. This genre is being acknowledged and finally becoming a lot more established…

16. Describe your average day as an artist.

Ok. It goes like this. I listen to my existing mixtapes on the way to work, look at people around see if they would look like they'd enjoy it. Think about existing tunes and concepts I have already. Then I'd visualise bars at work, you know, between microwaving, mopping and laundry etc, repeat them over till I leave and find my phone to write it all down. Then I get home, record a version which I always mark as rough but then get lazy and mix it and call it finished, then ring my manager or my bestie to discuss plans for the newest mixtape and/or tune. I have like 350 unreleased tunes.

17. Do you think that within the scene there is a lot of racism or do you tend to stay away from it?

Yeah I don't think so, but I don't think I've experienced that problem blatantly..

18. who is the favourite MC/Producer you have worked with?

CD Spinz jeez…. He gets the job done. Simple. My fave producers are HdN and Whyrez, without a doubt baybee… I love people who can just get things done without long excuses :D

19. As an MC do you see what you write as a form of poetry/spoken word? Does poetical devices even get thought about when you're writing?

Yes of course. I always explore different techniques and methods of writing n performing. Absolutely love it.. I mean I have been trained and challenged from a young age to experiment with form and so im constantly finding new techniques etc.

20. Are there any female MCs that you think could be bigger than some of the biggest male MCs at the moment?

WOW. Big question. I think female MC's, and im not just saying this because I'm one, usually back themselves up with some substance, some real metaphorical bars, some emotional bars, and they got something to say. I mean im sick of that stifled rudegal shit that girls get compared to, angry, or stupid, or sketty, or quiet. I admire females that say what the fuck they want to, what needs to be heard. Fully got Lioness, Lady L, Envy, Shystie, Nolay, Miss Dynamite's tunes on repeat. The list goes on really, there's so many that I know of, but there isn't enough space. Guys, be warned, we might just steal that thunder lol!

21. What's your opinion about postcode wars in london, does it affect your music in any way shape or form, like who you would collaborate with or clash with?

I've moved house too many times to care. Its pointless and if you're gonna be repping a lil code that people put on letters, then u need to let that go. London's to live in. How can someone say if I can or can't go somewhere? What if I need to buy toilet paper?

22. If you were stuck on a desert island which 3 people and 5 objects/possessions would you take with you and why?

3 people, my bestie.. and ill figure out the rest later..who needs too many people? and 5 possesions, my dvd player, my peepshow dvd[and ill hide the inbetweeners inside the case so its still one item] my lyrics oh tons of lyrics, possibly a boat so I can get back n go sainsburys and a damn kitten. Why wont anyone buy me a kitten?

23. What is your secret musical guilty pleasure?

Oh don't tell ANYONE but for a treat ill watch MTV then be forced to listen to rihanna or even at a push nikki minaj at a really low volume. Then obviously punish myself for weeks.. The real Kaiz La Kazie would die before playing them.

24. if you had to be described as anything what would it be?

Well.. uh, an eccectic bubble grime MC and up-coming artist etc..

25. Most people would consider grime artists as ignorant due to their target audience, do you find that because of this people are actually surprised when you talk because you have a wider vocabulary than expected?

Yeah all the time lmao.. I try not to dumb down my [pretty sharp I must say] content. I mean when it comes to censorship, fine, but I don't feel I should change things to make my tunes PG or something. If I say "pussy" or "twat" in a tune, its probably coz it needs to be there. Why alternate it with "heart" ? I don't mince my words because im 100% real and if you need me diluted, drink some fucking OJ.

26. Do you think that the way you dress makes you look predictably like a MC?

No.. I dress most days as a catering assistant, I haven't seen an MC wearing latex gloves n whites lol.. I just try not to be too much "like a mandem" coz im a girl. Obviously. But I'm not a slut. I'm right in that sick slice of middle. There's me.

27. If you had to chose between your wifey or your mandem if there was a fight who would you back and why?

Choose my wifey all the way mate. Erm..on a real? Nah. I'm not a wimp but I don't do fights.

28. What are your views on the following - Women, drugs, violence and the police?

Yum, perfect Saturday night.

29. Where do you see yourself career wise in the next 5 years?

In an elevated position from where I am now. Hopefully still with that same ambition, that same passion to also enlighten others with what I do as well. I have big plans.

30. If you could be signed to any mainstream/independent label on a recording contract who would it be and why?

Wowwwwww…… Lets be mysterious now…

Kisses…. Kaiz La Kazie <3

Look out for her next mixtape Bricks which is out next year amoungst other big projects like working as my music producer on the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This girl is big news and follow her on twitter.com/kaizlakazie and Kaiz La Kazie on facebook.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW - EKLIPSE!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Gravity EP is an EP with no choruses, every tune is freeverse. Production features from Anish Bhatt, Jelacee, Cee Major. 7 tracks. Is out for free download on the 1/1/11. eatst london Rapper, MC and Poet Eklipse. The Cover was Designed by MinezDesignz and the picture was taken and edited by Jessica Morante

1. what inspired you to get into the grime scene?

Initially I never had an interest in grime I was a poet. I moved to s different school after being home schooled and grime was a prominent thing and I wanted to be involved but I never wrote anything. But took a MCing course in the summer of 2007 once and it all kicked off from there.

2. How old were you when you first heard grime? and where were you?

2. When I was about 12, it was at school. Everyone was in the playground just playing tunes off their phones and I liked what I heard.

3. If you could collaborate with anyone in the scene who would it be?

3. In grime? Probably Dot Rotten, every time I listen to his music I feel like I have so much work to do. So working with him would really force me to try and experiment to take my music to different levels. He also spits about a lot of stuff that I can relate to so I definitely think it would be a great collaboration

4. Where's the strangest place you have created bars?

4. The strangest place has to be in the shower. Most of the time I try and sit down and give myself time to write.

5. What is your favourite tune you have created?

5. I don’t really have one to be honest, one of tunes I’m feeling at the moment is my verse on Mary J Blije’s ‘The One’. I feel like I really flowed well with the beat and the concept. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMsIrrnfqzE) In terms of grime, My vocal of Cee Major’s ‘Predator’ is a real favourite of mine too (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL08HYSEgNQ ), which is also the first track off The Gravity EP.

6. Who are your influences?

6. I have so many influences. In terms of grime it’ll be people like Dot Rotten, Ghetts, Scorcher, Wiley, J2K, Wretch etc. However The people around me also influence me. In terms of Hip Hop, people like J Cole, Joe Budden, Jay Z, Eminem, Vado and Nipsey Hussle. But singers and whatnot also influence me such as Jazmine Sullivan.

7. If you didn't get into the music scene what would you rather do?

7. I’d be a poet 100%. I still do poetry; I just find music is my preference.

8. How much of your life and background influenced what you spit and write?

8. My life is what I write about. Aspects of my life or what I’m thinking will be in every tune I write about. Its very difficult to write about something that you cant relate to.

9. What tunes would you recommend to someone who has never listened to your music?

9. I would recommend they download The Gravity EP on the 1/1/2011. But in till then just check out the stuff on my youtube account www.youtube.com/themreklipse or to download and to download the Love Struck promo I did which is just 3 remixes of R&B tracks http://www.filefront.com/17362156/Eklipse-Love Struck (The Remixes).zip.

10. Have there been any women in your life that have been an inspiration to you musically?

10. My Mum, as a single parent she inspires me a lot through all the sacrifices she’s made.

11. What advice would you give to anyone who wants to get into the scene?

11. Don’t copy anyone; you should do it for you and your love of the music. And also, just to work as much as possible, even if you’re talented. Consistency is more important.

12. Is there anyone in the scene you respect and anyone you also hate?

12. I respect all the people I’m working with like Cee Major, Jammz, Shemzy Jelacee and Anish Bhatt. I try not to hate anyone but I cant lie some people do annoy me lol.

13. Do you think that grime could survive if MCs didn't spit about violence and the degradation of women?

13. I think it does need more range in terms of what people talk about. But half of the riches rappers in the world ONLY talk about violence and degrading women, so I dont think its down to that 100%.

14. Do you think that drugs play a major role in the scene for instance spitting about weed or even posing with a joint?

14. Partially, Grime is the street and that’s what happens on the streets. You can only rap about what you know about so it’s natural for us to talk about those things.

15. What do you think of the grime artists who have gone commercial like NDubz, Titchy Stryder, Plan B, Chipmunk and Wiley? Do you think that has helped grime or killed it?

15. I think it depends, for me artists like Skepta and Wiley have really helped the scene by trying to chart with songs that still have a grimy feel to them. Songs like ‘Cross My Heart’ and ‘She Likes To’ have really contributed to the scene, not to mention the ‘Hello Good Morning Grime Remix’. But I do feel like some artists have tried to forget about the scene, which will only hinder it.

16. Describe your average day as an artist.

16. Well I’m still at 6th Form so most days I go there and then I come back and try and write.

17. Do you think that within the scene there is a lot of racism or do you tend to stay away from it?

17. I don’t think there’s much racism at all to be honest. If you’re a good artist you’re a good artist.

18. who is the favourite MC/Producer you have worked with?

18. Cee Major, we started around the same time so we’ve grown together, yet we’re very different artist so when we come together to work on a tune its always a madness.

19. As an MC do you see what you write as a form of poetry/spoken word? Does poetical devices even gt thought about when your writing?

19. Yeah 100%, as I said before I started as a poet so poetics take a huge part in my creative process. I feel like if I write something that practically anyone could write then I’m not doing enough.

20. Are there any female MCs that you think could be bigger than some of the biggest male MCs at the moment?

20. There are loads of wicked female MCs like Lioness, Lady Leshurr, No.Lay. I hope there’s more up and coming ones because they really do go in!

21. What's your opinion about postcode wars in london, does it affect your music in any way shape or form, like who you would collaborate with or clash with?

21. Post code wars are nothing but damaging. Everyone has a connection to someone in a different area so its just never ending. In terms of my music, yeah it has an impact because if I work with certain artists I know people they have beef with may have an issue with it, so it can be difficult.

22. If you were stuck on a desert island which 3 people and 5 objects/possessions would you take with you and why?

22. I’m gonna be dumb and pretend there’s electricity on the island lol. My iMac, so I have music and I can write, my headphones so I can ignore the other 3 people when I need to lol, and unlimited amount of KFC chicken, a blanket for the winter and a microphone so I can record. The people? 2 of my closest friends and Meagan Goode lol.

23. What is your secret musical guilty pleasure?

23. I don’t really have one you know, apart from junk food before each session lol.

24. if you had to be described as anything what would it be?

24. Hardworking. Hopefully lol.

25. Most people would consider grime artists as ignorant due to their target audience, do you find that because of this people are actually surprised when you talk because you have a wider vocabulary than expected?

25. All the time, people have such a warped perception of grime they find it shocking that I can actually read. But as the genre expands its getting better.

26. Do you think that the way you dress makes you look predictably like a MC?

26. Not really, I have quite a varied wardrobe so depending on where I’m going I’ll dress accordingly so nobody could really guess that I’m an MC.

27. If you had to chose between your wifey or your mandem if there was a fight who would you back and why?

27. Well I’m single at the moment so my mandem 100%. But if I had a girl friend it would probably still be my mandem because when my guys are fighting its serious. With girls a bit of hair might be lost but that’s it lol.

28. What are your views on the following - Women, drugs, violence and the police?

28. Women, I don’t trust the majority of them but as a man I can only love them lol. Drugs, weed is the furthest you should go. Violence use it appropriately when need be. Police, lets not get me started.

29. Where do you see yourself career wise in the next 5 years?

29. Signed to an independent label hopefully. If I’m lucky maybe a mainstream label.

30. If you could be signed to any mainstream/independent label on a recording contract who would it be and why?

30. Probably Island because of the freedom that they give to artists like Tinchy, NDubz And Devlin. But as long as a label is willing to market you correctly and give you direction alongside enough creative freedom its all good.

People I suggest you download the Gravity album when its released, but in the meantime go download the Love Struck promo because it is awesome. WATCH THIS SPACE for the Gravity download link!!!!!!

For those of you who dont know who Eklipse is, he started as a performing artist and had his poetry published at 14 and his mum is also a poet and spoken word artist. He is an amazing performer who perform rarely at th Roundhouse in Camden which is where he made his name with many other young artiss like Kaiz La Kazie, myself and was mentored under the spectacular Jacob Sam La Rose. If you ever ge a chance to see im perform treasure it as it is a rare oppurtunity. Outside of his career he is a lovely charming and sweet young man with a great sense of humour.

Producer Alert for 2011

Look out for Cee Major a fantastic producer who has worked with artists like Maxsta, Dolla da dustman, Darkz and many more. Not only that he is a MC as well, bit more laid back flow than most Grime MCs. I know Mr Cee Major through a mutual friend and am aquainted with him via Facebook and Twitter. I would suggest you check him out on Youtube username is majorvision.
On first sight you would not think he was a producer or MC with his glasses but that is what makes him recognisable as well as being white. As there is a minority of white artists on the Grime scene especially on the underground scene. He is a hard working polite and friendly individual with an amazing ear for what works well when you think it wouldn't. His collection of beats vary from futuristic to Jazz with grime beats.
GO CHECK HIM OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re - Invention Ragz Originale MIXTAPE REVIEW!!!!!!

Ragz Originale is one of the top London Underground artists, who not only spits barz but can produce too. This mixtape is about reinvention of who he is and reinventing grime as a popular genre. A guest on BBC1 Xtra fire in the booth many a time and known nationally to as far as Scotland and Ireland, he is a shy and funny guy with a hardworking streak in private.

TRACK LISTING

The episode - Very chilled and deep lyrically, one of my favourite tracks on the album.

stay down - slow jam style, perfect track for just sitting with your mates and smoking to it, as you bop your head to the beat and sing along too.

ok (shut ‘em down) - The lines on this are deep but humorous it’s the type of track you have to listen to more than once simply because it’s that deep.

zone out - I suggest you listen to this track with your eyes shut and zone out, because this track is picturesque and takes you into his mind.

Ready to go - Damn this guy gets better track by track, I’m sure there are quite a few girls who listen to this and wish they were linking him cause he is respectful and sounds like he would make Valentines day perfect. (Just my professional musical opinion!)

Drinks on me - A proper party/club tune about alcohol and it being an exclusive night out. It’s a tune you can dance to slowly almost like your intoxicated.

gothic (level up) - I love the beat of this tune, its dark and grimy. His lyrics are mind-blowing, where does he get some of these lines, with the dashes of irony?

meaning of life - Old school hip hop style, makes you want to join in on the chorus.

Hustle - Self explanatory and honest, I love it because it’s a tune you can throw your lighter up at. Any one who has seen enough Grime videos can see a brill video playing in their head almost Giggs style.

lets roll - Sick drum beat, the use of piano is unusual but works surprisingly well. A song about him and his ladies, cheeky but not at all crass.

take it slower - Charming track, a proper Grime love song, shows his softer and ladies man side, but shows he wont put up with stupidity.

Competition - Dark Bass intro, a song for any artist who knows how hard the grind is and how it affects the personal and social life.

Talk a little louder - Talking about himself and how he keeps real, another one of my favourites.

Let me go (bonus track) - Littered with popular and funny references, a perfect song for the end of the album it wraps it up beautifully, and leaves you asking some deep personal questions about the artist.

Overall it’s a 4.5 stars for this Grime album, it takes a few listens to get into it but is brilliant once you get into it.

EXCLUSIVE ALBUM REVIEW - Marion - Great Escape

Sorry this was suppose to be up a month ago but I had too much to do for college and such like. So here it is Marions' album Great Escape, a RnB singer with a voice so angelic and delightful its almost heartbreaking. It's no wonder this 22 American artist is being called the next Bruno Mars. His full name is Marion Carter and is quite a dashing young man. I recieve this album through Damien Simpson and had a listen. If thre i ayone lookng for a present to give to their mum/sister/girlfriend/wife this is it!

TRACK LISTING

great escape - Beautiful guitar intro, sounds like Neyo but wth the lyrico Jasmie Sullivan, empowering tune

return - Piano intro similar to Sarah Barrelis Love Song, soulful beat and lyrics, about someone sorry for thier mistakes and picking themselves up so they can get back wth an ex partner.

walking wounded - A very dark sounding dance tune, perfect for a RnB club, makes you want to get up and dance like you are a proffessional.

cant wait - A classic sounding if not slightly generic love song from this genre. I love it but its a song not for the broken hearted as they would proberly break down listening to it.

play with my mind - Appreciative of women, can imagine my boyfriend singing to it to make me smile coyly. Its the next Bruno Mars amazing. I want to see this in the charts so much its unreal.

replace it - sad song with a beautiful piano melody, its almost minmalistic would work brilliantly as an acoustic song.

world upon my shoulders - Starts as a club tune until it properly kicks in and becomes a perfect slow jam.

I wish - Powerful lyrics and drum beat. Like a love song but more of a slow jam that you can be single and listen to without hysterically weeping, unless you are the one in the wrong.

this life - Great steady beat, perfect for any occasion, almost lke a modern lullaby lyrically. Reminds me of Craig David with the little rap.

impossible - My favourite song on the album, poetic, true and if only I could reach those high notes without sounding screachy.

Overall it is a beautiful album and I cant find a fault with it. A 5 Star album and I can definately see him being better known in 2011.

Things to look forward to from me x

Sorry I have been rushed off my feet with all sorts this month but you can expect to see a few more reviews, an exclusive interview with Eklipse, and progress on my journey to the fringe theatre in Edinbrugh. I will also be posting up a reflection of the year with my hopes and dreams of the coming year and some more poetry and tidbits about my personal life and career. Thanks for continuing to read my blog I appreciate it so much and I hope to see my readership numbers increase over the year. Random fact is that I get a hundred readers a week and I aim to increase that to a hundred a day by posting daily even if it is a little something. Merry Xmas and a happy new year to all of you across the globe xxxx

Bethany Marcus Little by Little ALBUM REVIEW!!!!

New album by Bethany Marcus a Rnb singer from London. Also signed to Island records. Even if RnB isn't your thing I can assure you she is amazing and extremely pretty. So pretty she could be the new Cheryl Cole. If you don't download or buy this album you are a fool because i sense this girl is going to be big. If she wasn't I wouldnt continue, so plaese read furthur to see what I think of her album Little by Little.

Little by little - awesome club banger, can also imagine this in Glee sung by Rachel or Mercedes, coz its a big powerful tune.

Don't let it die - Love ballad, Whitney Houston style lyrics, not feeling the backings would suit a less clubby backing track. But thats my opinion, great vocals though.

Played our song - Makes me dance like Usher, awesome song reminisent of Jasmine Sullivan.

Living for the moment - great club banger, makes you sing into your hair brush.

Take it to the streets - Can imagine this in a dance film like the streets, sounds a little like early Rhianna.

Am I invisible? - Slower song but very deep, not a song for the depressed as would make you feel more so.

Closet full of clothes - Typical girl song which the title suggests. Awesome song, makes me feel empowered when I'm having a bad day.

Float - Slow jam, beautifully written and sung.

It's Destiny ft Liam Heart - Beautiful love duet, perfect song for any couple who is deeply in love. The cynical amoungst my readers will appreciate the beautiful nievity in the lyrics.

Girls are all alike - True song, helpful to guys who are confused by women because we all desire the same stuff from guys.

Dance - Electro/disco beat I would play this on full blast before going out clubbing just to get in the mood. Mind you i would be worried if tweens were singing this song as its a bit adult in theme.

High - Lady Gaga style beat but i love the lyrics.

colours for you - My fav song on the album, poetic and melodic. Sounds like Rhianna when she started out.

Fairytales and make believe - Beautiful lyrics and makes you feel young and old at the same time, I'm not sure why i feel that but I like it.

Review of Damien Simpsons' album Waiting for you

One day I was on myspace and got a friend request from a Damien Simpson and being me just accepted it and got talking. As one thing lead to another I discovered he is a UK RnB artist, lovely sweet guy with a sexy honey voice. I'm not a big fan of RnB as it is a vistage of my younger self, back in the day when I was 14 and listening to Ray Charles and Chris Brown (way before finding out he was a wife beating thug). Me naturally a massive music fan thought OK i will take a listen to his music. I was not prepared to fall musically in love!I'm not a mushy person but if I was in a relationship or a young teenager I would totally have a crush on this guy and blast his album on repeat reeatedly on full blast. I can't begin to explain how profoundly his music struck my ears. His melodies are beautifully executed, the harmonies have an amazing counterpint that Bach would be proud of. His lyrics are catchy and very romantic. Thank god this young man is signed otherwise I would have to say there is something wrong with the world. He is signed to Island Records, who also signed big names like Titchy Styder. (No comment on the theme my blog is progressing to.) Enough of me drooling and on to some professional criticism.

Track list (Bonus edition)

Waiting for you - Bit of a soft rock love ballad with the electric giutar, very chris brown, slow and very romantic

Find a way - Very poetic, like a modern version of Marvin Gaye

Kiss - a respectful song about kissing, respecting a woman holding off from more than just a kiss

Love my girlfriend - Cute, realising he loves his girlfriend after he lost her.

Tender love - Very tender, a male version of Alicia Keys, the piano is what makes me think this, the rhythm is perfect for slow dancing or if you're in a romantic mood for sensual sex.

Real pretty tonight - A perfect song for getting ready on a friday night with the girls, makes you feel cute, would also be very romantic if a guy sung this to you. Very Chris Brown style.

Calling for you - Makes you wanna sing into your hairbrush, a very Neyo style love song. His voice is like cadburys milk chocolate, very sweet and makes you feel amazing.

We in love ft Miss Perfect - First song I heard, reminds me of my first relationship in school, the one with your first kiss. Its beautifully nieve and Miss Perfect has a lovely tone to her voice, these two voices work very harmoniously together.

The Xmas song - Isn't your standard xmas song but does make you wish you were celebrating xmas everyday, a very lovely love song about family. I love the gentle hint of soprano saxophone in the backings of the chorus.

Fallin' in love - Would be great to see a street dance video to this. Conjours up images of step up and other dance films. Got me humming along and doing a stevie wonder head movement.

In your face - O Tpain type intro, sometimes I have to check whether it is Damian Simpson and not Chris Brown, however the lyrics are very post Ray Charles and reaches even big girls like myself on a deep level. A tune mothers would love as it would make even them feel young. If your mum doesn't tell you to turn this up then there is a problem with my musical instincts.

My girlfriends girl - Uh Oh he has fallen for the wrong girl and it aint his girlfiend. I love this song as some guys will understand the issue sung here.

Forever - Rhianna springs to mind when i heard the intro. But it is a very sensitive song and I just wanna cry with happiness at this song coz they dont make guys like this any more.

Life of the party ft Jay Ray - A great club floorfiller. RnB isn't my main passion musically but this makes me wanna dance and dig out my teen record collection. makes me feel very nostalgic and 14 again.

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW - KRONZ

My name is Kronz, and I'm a 16 year old Grime MC/Producer from Hertfordshire (Just outside London)

1. what inspired you to get into the grime scene?
Well when I was about 13, I met an old friends older brother, and he was an experienced Grime producer. He told me about producing Grime and then about a week later he gave me a copy of Fruity Loops so I could start producing my own beats. I was inspired by him because I thought if I started making Grime beats, one day I will make something as good as his.

2. How old were you when you first heard grime? and where were you?
Wow, hmmm... I was about 12 when I first heard Grime. I was at school and everyone was just playing Grime beats from there phones... If I can remember, a popular beat back then that everyone knew about was Ruff Sqwad - Pied Piper Instrumental... [Laughs]

3. If you could collaborate with anyone in the scene who would it be?
Right now I've already started making these collabs happen, for example working with Clipson (Formerly Clipper of Fire Camp). Still, if I could collaborate with anyone in the scene, it would be Trim, Little Dee, P Money, Blackz, Dot Rotten, Merky ACE, M.I.K, Maxsta, Big H, Paper Pablo and a few more... I also want to do some work with Michael Hunter, The producer of the GTA IV theme song. He's very big, trust me.

4. Where's the strangest place you have created bars?
[Laughs].. Strangest place? Erm I'm not sure... Ill pass that one [Laughs]...

5. What is your favourite tune you have created?
I don't really have a favourite tune I've created. Every tune I make is a favourite to me because I feel that I'm upping the levels which is a very nice feeling...

6. Who are your influences?
My influences are the old school dogs in the grime scene... None of the new school rhymers really influence me because they all sound the same. Anyway the guys that influence me are man like D Double E, Wiley, Ghetto, Devlin, Dot Rotten, Rude Kid, President T and a couple more. Burial and Snugs influence me as well. If you don't know about them do your research...

7. If you didn't get into the music scene what would you rather do?
I thought about that actually... I would probably be a camera man shooting videos, It looks interesting still...

8. How much of your life and background influenced what you spit and write?
Yeah erm, quite a lot of my life and background really has influenced what I spit and write... Mainly the things that are going on in my life right now influences what I write down on the page..

9. What tunes would you recommend to someone who has never listened to your music?
Kronz - Looking Back ft Shawnie B (Produced By Dot Rotten). That's on my YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/kronzmusic. Make sure you subscribe, comment and rate if your new to my channel...

10. Have there been any women in your life that have been an inspiration to you musically?
No no no. I'm not that type of guy. I don't like to make music about women that inspire me because that's not really Grime. Ill leave that to the sweet boy MC's to do [Laughs]...

11. What advice would you give to anyone who wants to get into the scene?
Its not hard, but at the same time its not simple. If your looking to go into spitting, just make sure you know about the Grime scene, and what's going on everyday, don't act naive. Step out of your comfort zone and learn how to do new things e.g. Mastering a difficult flow, working on content, delivery, projection (which is what I'm working on at the moment). Most importantly learn how to network, so you can get your name around... For producers, learn how to develop your OWN style... I've noticed how a lot of the new skool producers are copying old skool producers styles and sounds, that's not the lick. Also learn how to get your beats around, show them to MCs & DJs, you never know they might like it and want to work with you in the future... But overall the best advice I can give to anyone that wants to get into the scene is work HARD!

12. Is there anyone in the scene you respect and anyone you also hate?
I respect most guys that are putting in work, and are actually getting somewhere for example MC Tigz, he's been putting in a lot of work and I can see that its paying off for him. I also respect Giggs, he's been putting in mad amounts of hard work and look where he is now... I don't hate anyone but I hate the fact that some of these new skool mcs copy each other, they don't wanna develop there own style, I've been hearing a lot of them with the same fast flows lately... The same goes for some of the new skool producers...

13. Do you think that grime could survive if MCs didn't spit about violence and the degradation of women?
Erm, to an extent, it could mainly because of the Grime artists that spit about love, but I wouldnt really call that Grime. A lot of Grime nowadays is about violence and crime and that's the type of grime I would listen to. Its your choice anyway... 14. Do you think that drugs play a major role in the scene for instance spitting about weed or even posing with a joint? [Laughs]... I see some people smoking zoots in videos and all that... I just think it helps you to think of more creative things... To me it doesn't play a major role. Its just weed [Laughs]... 15. What do you think of the grime artists who have gone commercial like NDubz, Titchy Stryder, Plan B, Chipmunk and Wiley? Do you think that has helped grime or killed it? Ill be honest, I don't really rate guys like Chipmunk. The fact that they said they would stay making Grime music and then turn to pop is a par. There tryna make Grime look bad, like there's no money in it, but don't watch that, its a new genre, soon there will be... [Laughs], Wiley? C'mon, he's helped Grime on a major scale! He's on another level, even though he sometimes makes Commercial music he still makes Grime, he sticks to his roots. I look up to him as a good artist all the time. If a Grime MC says that they have never looked up to Wiley, they are lying, trust me. I rate Wiley and always will.

16. Describe your average day as an artist.
Well first, go school as I do A-Levels... Come home and most times I'm just writing tunes so that there ready to record. If I'm not writing tunes, I'm making beats... And if I'm not making beats I'm promoting my shit... But still I ain't been to the studio in a hot second, but I'm eager to get back in there and bang out tunes.

17. Do you think that within the scene there is a lot of racism or do you tend to stay away from it?
Nah, not at all. I don't think there's any racism in the scene.

18. As an MC do you see what you write as a form of poetry/spoken word? Does poetical devices even get thought about when your writing?
Yeah sometimes I do... Erm yeah sometimes poetical devices run through my head when I'm barring. Rarely though, that's all technical.

20. Are there any female MCs that you think could be bigger than some of the biggest male MCs at the moment?
Not sure about that one still... I don't really listen to female MCs too tough. Lady Leshur is doing alot though!

21. What's your opinion about postcode wars in london, does it affect your music in any way shape or form, like who you would collaborate with or clash with?
Its kinda pointless, all this beefing over postcodes shit, but whatever happens, happens, as long as I know I'm cool its nothing really... It doesn't affect me at all, so all of my collabs go down.

22. If you were stuck on a desert island which 3 people and 5 objects/possessions would you take with you and why?
That's tricky [Laughs]... Ill pass that one...

23. What is your secret musical guilty pleasure?
I don't have any [Laughs], I only listen to real music...

24. if you had to be described as anything what would it be?
3 words, down to earth.

25. Most people would consider grime artists as ignorant due to their target audience, do you find that because of this people are actually surprised when you talk because you have a wider vocabulary than expected?
Nah its not even that you know. Most people that are naive to Grime think that, Grime artists are ignorant because their target audience doesn't include anything to do with the "Mainstream" scene... So because of that, they tend to think we know nothing about the big vocab and all that shit.. But all that's all a dead hype, I couldn't care less if someone thinks I'm ignorant because of the people I make music for.

26. Do you think that the way you dress makes you look predictably like a MC?
Nope, not really. I just do me to be honest... I let the music do the talking and not how I dress haha.

27. If you had to chose between your wifey or your mandem if there was a fight who would you back and why?
My mandem obviously. My bruddas always have to come before girls... I don't need to say no more!

28. What are your views on the following - Women, drugs, violence and the police?
With Women, I don't know what's wrong with some them now [Laughs]. Certain girls think there invincible now [Laughs]! I don't even wanna talk about drugs and violence [Laughs]. But yeah my view on the police? F*** them!

29. Where do you see yourself career wise in the next 5 years?
I see myself doing a lot for the Grime scene, I wanna be helping out the youngers that will be coming up because as a younger trying to get known, so many people blocked me out, so I want to do the complete opposite. But yeah, in the next 5 years I wanna see myself up there!

30. If you could be signed to any mainstream/independent label on a recording contract who would it be and why?
[Laughs], you know what! I don't even wanna be signed to any mainstream label! F*** Pop! 100% GRIME!!!

What makes a great critic?

A critic is some one who constructively judges something and the informs the masses of whether the piece under examination is worth any attention. What makes a great critic is not just experience but also what they know about the subject. This means they should be able to analysise the form, structure, language even. For instance if it is a film they are reviewing then the should know the technical terms, the history of film and also be able to relate to the viewer on thier level. Remember a critic must bare in mind that the audince watch, look or listen for pleasure.

People ask me what do I know about the subjects I critise and I say that having studied my subjects to a technical level and have an passion for these subject I feel qaulified to voice my opinion knowing that I know what I am talking about and can analysise the piece in any context knowing that I can support my critisism with constructive comments.

I review music, theatre, books and fims. I have studied music, theatre and english to A-Level standard. These subjects have taught me how to analysis these art forms breaking them apart to appreciate the beauty and hard work that goes into these forms. So much of this goes unappreciated by the audience but a critic can look and see beyond and truely judge its worth.

I feel I can critcise even better having written creatively and written music. This means I can put myself in the shoes of an audience and a critc when reviewing my own work in editing process.

Critics are judged to cruel dislikable people, but we know our subjects well enough to give a true honest opinion, where we are not having to gain favour of the artist(s) to gain respect. A critic is definately the person to fear as they make or break an artist.

However a rare gem of a critic is the one that is instinctive and intutive on what the next trend will be, as well as what is crurrently trending. As I critique a lot of new up and coming artists I have to know what will be big, what is big but won't last and what is never going to make it. A critic is never wrong and the only person who can contest a critic is another critic who has the same amount of knowledge on that subject.

EXCLUSIVE REVIEW - It's the south east - fortune favours the rich

Well, discovered a more alternative sound on the Island Records label. 2 very talented london boys, who are predicted to be the new 'The Streets'. These cheecky cockney lads produce and write thier own stuff. Its very dancey and alternative sounding. Its a beautiful mixture of spoken word over instrumentals. If you are picky about your music the closest people I can say they are similar to are The Streets, Lydia Lunch and Nick Cave. These lads will definately make you laugh with this conceptual album and if your even harder to please sing along with them. Its concept is a man who falls in love with a girl only to find out as the so eloqeantly put it is a slag. I dare you to play this loud when your parents are at home and I double dare you to play it to your grand parents.

Tracklist

Intro - Pure instrumental, will lead you to think this is a classical album which it isn't. Makes a perfect instrumental to do your own spoke word stuff over.

Round and Round ft Amelia - Very dancey song, can see it played in a club one of my favs to skank to.

On top of the world - Lovely song, slightly like the reverand and the makers. Makes you wanna sing along

Dirty slags ft ILS - Halarious even though it makes you wanna go on a feminist strop with the language but you have to remember thier cockney lads so chill and enjoy.

The start of an end - sets the theme in place here as you find out she is a slag

Best Mates Bird - OMG i was laughing so hard at this and singing along coz it was too funny to keep a straight face to. My fav song on the album.

Fortune favours the rich - latin beat and narritive story lyrics, i love the accents to the point i forget how much they swear. Makes you wanna dance drunk to it

We can't decide - A slower song, funny but its kinda cynical in approach and like a debate or conversation. I like it quite inspirational for how men think about women and sex.

Chinese Whispers - Slag been at it again and thier metaphores are getting funnier. Funny tune with some great string backings with the drum beat.

Waiting - Sad song, made me wanna cry. beautifully written, bit like Plan B with the masculine honest sentimentality.

Constantly stoned - Got that feel to it and its soooo funny, sing alongish and honest about weed . I love it!

So overall I love it, its funny and brilliantly cheecky. So download it at http://www.zshare.net/download/7375145208bb6f07/. Be a daredevil and try it, I'm sure you'll like it xx

EXCLUSIVE ALBUM REVIEW!!!!!!! PRE-RELEASE

I think I have just heard the next big release from Island Records. A young man called Liam Heart, and oh my oh my he definantly one of the ones to watch if you love your R&B. I have been sent a copy of his album to review, however it is not released until November 17th 2010. So you guys are gonna have to wait until then to listen to what I'm talking about. However you can find him on youtube - the song to look for is 'worth more than gold', its a beautiful song.

He is like a mixture of Neyo, Usher and Chris Brown. Beautifully sweet tunes, will definately go down well with all the romantic souls and I can predict he will have a huge following of teenage girls with that voice. He writes all of his own songs too so thats another added bonus to why I think he is one of the next big things.

What is surprising is that on first listen you may think he is Amercian, but he is actually from Essex (England). Well who would of thought that in Essex they produce singers and songwriters of this callibre.

The album is called Love and is about precisely that. Remember available on 17th November and for the record I am not affliated with Island Records.

Track List

Love - beautiful chord progressions, with a very soulful beat. I can see this being sung on Glee because its got that sing along feel to it. Garrunttee the chorus will be stuck in your head by the end of the song.

Save Me - Marching rnb drum beat, smooth lyrics, very Chris Brown in 2007. Not as depressing as the tittle suggests but definately break up song material.

Need You - Slow dancing song, definately a hit with the romantic boys. Would make a good song for a movie soundtrack.

Go! - Remarkably for a song about finding out his girlfriend cheating its very laid back and almost saying I don't care just tell me the truth. I see this in the charts released as a single over the next few months.

Tell Me why - very soulful, can imagine it remixed for a club, its got that feel to it.

Afriad - Honest, and very touchig, one of my favourite tunes

Just stay together - Early Neyo style, Just can see a winter top ten here!!!! Makes you wanna sing into your hair brush, as an sdult it makes me feel like I'm 13 again and head over heels in puppy lust.

Gotta Do with me ft Michelle - A very grown up track, got girl doing some club moves, wishing there was a guy here to dance with. Its quite a naughty track written in a nice innocent way.

Through my eyes - very romantic, modern day Ray Charles, makes you wanna street dance.

Home - Soulful, talking about trying to get his girlfriend to see and open up. Makes any single girl fresh from a relationship wanna cry with its sentimentality.

Right here - true RnB right here, takes you to the days of Marvin Gaye and Barry White, got a slight hint of horns too, giving it that old school classy feel. Now I'm really starting to fall in love with this track, its so true about guys in relationships and how they should be.

Too far to end - Now this is a true love ballad, reminds me of R Kelly vocally here. It feels like he is singing to you and that just makes you fall in love even if your the most wisest of cynics about love.

Lies - A deep social observation, anyone who has had a hard life can emphasis with this and will draw some raw deep emotions from everyone who listens. Got a lemar feel to it.

I just can't - Touching love song, that makes you think of Usher, when hes being romantic

Much more than friends - Omg take away the backing this would still be an amazing song accapella, got a 90s feel about it in terms of rnb then.

Worth more than gold - Sweet sweet song, another of my favourites, loved the video too. He is defo worth more than gold on this scene.

So people get this album when its released, even if you didn't like my review coz you'll kick yourself later when he hits the charts big time.

Remember Liam Heart - Love released 17th November 2010 xx

CelibacyVsIntimacy - Kaiz La Kazie

This is an exclusive!!!!!

This mixtape is based on a story about a young woman who meets a guy and is attracted to him. Almost falling in love with him, until she finds out that he has a girlfriend already. The mixtape is based over 48 hours, the first half is her meeting and being attracted to him, aptly named Intimacy and the second half is her reaction to finding out he has a girlfriend. Hence its called celibacy. This conceptual mixtape is very clever as all the intimacy tracks begin with I and the celibacy tracks beginning with C. This is the 6th mixtape from Kaiz La Kazie, released 1 year to the day from her first ever mixtape Migrate adapt was ever released.
A little known fact is this is based on true events and proud to say that the night out and meeting of friends was about me (Jazzle) and Trae going clubbing with Kaiz La Kazie in Vauxhall. Awful night at club but jokes times when out of there. But what happens in Vauxhall stays there lol.

Track listing
[C]elibacy Vs [I]ntimacy..

FRIDAY
˚˚Anything˚˚ ft Ridez

[I] Think Why Not [Part 1] - Sexy sounding strings, and very sauve lyrics, she is thinking about being with him. Beautifully sweet lyrics.

[I] Could Be - Bit more upbeat, vocalising every girls thoughts when she is in love. Very expressive.

[I] C U Searching - Very funky soul beat, describes herself in totaly honesty though a little arrogantly but it is done with such class.

[I] M Not Easy To Handle - Very Jazzy almost got a ska feel to it, she is trying to distance herself but she is laying it down for him.

[I] M Talking 2 U - got a 80s rnb feel to it, reminds me of Terrance Trent d'Arby with a dash of Whitney Houston. Talking about herself and wanting to change her standoffish behaviour.

[I] Like You - Very futuristic in style, talking about how she never falls for love. Makes you feel intoxicated like she is. Reminds me of Basement Jaxx' laid back tunes.

[I] Can B Vulnerable - Bit reggae and soul combined, the drumbeat kinda is showing her gaurds falling and the vocals show the steady flow of vulnerability.

[I] Think Why Not [Part 2] - She talks about having to distancing herself as she is drunk and doesnt wanna be a one night stand. Very dreamy beat.

-----------------------------------

SATURDAY

[C] I Dont Fuck - She is putting it straight, very feminist quite uplifting beat

[C] The Sweet Talk ft Ridez - Sharp slightly jarring until 15secs in where it become slightly chinese style, very honest about being fooled.

[C] How Ugly It Gets - Very soulful but funky, she looks at herself and wonders if its because of her as a person

Musical Taste update - Grime

Man since leaving london there is only one thing I haven't been able to leave behind. Strangely enough that is the underground music scene, also known as Grime. For those who don't know what it is, it's a UK version of Rap/Hip-Hop, but with faster lyrics and grimier beats (hence the name). Most people would know the names of NDubz, Skepta and Whiley, the leaders of this type of music, however they are too commercial and sugar coated for my taste. So I will outline some artists I have to rate at the moment, some you may and may not know along with suggested listening.

My first choice is Ghetts, popular with the poverished in London as it is something they can relate too. His lines are a gutter poetry, a clever mixture of wordplay, realism and fantastic collaborations. His albulm Calm before the storm is a good place to start as some of these tunes have been in the charts such as Skadoosh and Artillery.

My next choice is what I would consider as one of the next big things. A North London boy, called Darkz, anyone who listens to Radio 1 Extra would have heard him and some of the following artists On 'Fire In the Booth'. His lines are an interesting wordplay and his flow is slightly easier on the ear than Ghetts but musically his equal. He is also a great producer! I would suggest listening to Shut up and He can't love you.

Another unknown star is Ragz Orginale. With a new albulm on the way, released in October called Re-Invention is about precisely that (yes with a feature from yours truely), he is an artist that uses dark humour to convey life in London as a youth. He is also a great dresser, reinventing fashion as well as the music scene. Suggested listening would have to be Episode (from the albulm) and Wordplay versus ragz orginale.

Now moving on to some one you may know, Plan B, actor and MC. He has starred in films alongside Noel Clark and Micheal Caine. His Albulm, the defamation of Strickland Banks is a concept albulm about a young man who is wrongly accused of Rape and his musical journey throughout. Its a mixture of Grime and Soul, pushing the boundries furthur, his next albulm is a reggae style one, so in short a very versatile performer. I would suggest you listen to Charmaine, Paint it blacker and Set me free.

A Hidden gem, is Dazzle, lesser known than Ragz and Darkz but still worth a listen, another North London lad, but looking to move up in the industry by mixing genres like Plan B, so high hopes for this one. Suggested listening would be Tired and Fire in the booth.

I love a deep underground producer called Uncle Mix, who founded Wordplay studios back in 1993. Just listen to any of the Wordplay versus stuff to hear his productions.

So go away and a listen and report back what you think.

Message - Poem EXPLICIT!!!!!

Darling you think you’re a big man
Trying to convey your feelings through grime
You aint nothing but scum
Fucksake you got an absyss on your bum,
Your back is sick, why did u even take your top off in the first place
Your man boobs make my tits look small
Hell you got hair on your nipples longer than my head hair
Ginger pubes, small dick and wonky teeth
Dunno what I saw in you in the first place
When Im on my own I feel more safe
You tell me you can see clearly
But you cant even speak properly
We were oppersites, you a cheat me faithful
A big mistake on my part
Your sex was so wack,
Your best mates would have had me on my back
Even when you were smoking crack
But I was a good girl which made me a greater fool
Now you made me bad, and ur getting mad
Say bitch this and slag that
I just have to say prick I aint ever going back,
Back to you, back to the poverty, back to STDs
Just one look at your cock made me refuse to get on my knees
I made myself so much wetter,
Now u say you found somebody better
Who gives a fuck shes blonde and 5 foot 3
She aint nothing compared to me
And now im free
Free to do as I please
Without a man to stalk me and keep
Checking my phone, making sure I weren’t fucking no1 when u weren’t at home
First thing I did when I left was go to the clinic
To clean you off of me,
At least on the NHS that’s free
Your dick was so slack no wonder I turnt to black
Im going somewhere and u aint
I shoulda sent you to pen
Just so I knew you were gonna get raped everyday
But Im too nice and covered in ice
Your cold and alone
So think next time you try to bell my phone
Otherwise you’ll hear how he makes me really moan
Yes so text G, Kev, Sean, Rock, Martin, darrall, Pay and Rude my number
That way I can show them what you did and so there can
Remind you how good I am in bed
And how tight my pussy is
Then you’ll think back to the time
You said u would never hit me again
Now go and do me and the world a favour
Slit your wrists arsehole you aint man enough
To do even that are you?
No your not so go cry like an ickle bittle baby
Goodbye mwa x

Comeback/reinvention

Comeback/ reinvention

This is the reinvention
Slipping seamlessly from one form to another
Like a cigarette getting smoked down to letters
Changing grime to something
That will be tattooed on your brain
We are going to blow your mind with our mouths
Jazzle will do it sexually
Ragz will do it verbally
Making your head spin
And get you high like your on cheese
This is not just a reinvention
It’s a reincarnation,
A revolution of self control
What this was before is not what it is now
Its evolved
But underneath it all,
It’s the same,
Its just an upgrade
This is Ragz Originales Reinvention
An evolution of grime,
The essence is the same but the contents has
Changed and Its here to blow your mind
This is the reinvention….

Money - Evils and temptations

If she had a grand for every time he beat her
She would be a millionaire
Instead she is broke and broken
She has no more integrity so she thinks to
Please him to earn money she has to sell herself

If he had a grand for every line
He would be a millionaire
Instead he’s broke, spitting broken bars
No more drive so he stand on the Camden high road
Waiting for someone to come up to him asking for an eighths.

She’s slumpt against the toilet door
Trying to get her fix before she goes to work
She only started snorting coke coz it was cool
Now no one wants to sign her, coz her face aint the same

He’s running, shanked man for his oyster
Wearing dark clothes, hiding the blood.
Not wanting to go to prison, but needing to get to the studio
He doesn’t realise he was caught slipping on CCTV

She wakes up, in the middle of a bed
Silk sheets, an empty bottle of champagne clutched between her tits
Her head pounding like she was last night - hardcore
She sees a grand on the bedside table with a thank you note

He buys her pussy
Buying it, coz it’s the only
Way he knows women sleep willingly with him
Its his addiction,
Fuelled by the PIMP called money

She dresses like she is rolling in it
look at her bank acoount its overdrawn
brassed, to fuel an addiction for Gucci
She is a slave to fashion and money

Jazzle and Ragz try to
Earn it without it corrupting their minds
Trying to avoid being seduced into the high life
They gotta keep it real, or forget their roots

Cant live without it
Constantly needing it
Spitting and writing to make it
This is the reinvention

I want I want I want
that’s the chant a mother hears
From her kid when shes in Brent cross
The kid don’t realise Daddy sells mommy
Just so they can eat

The teenage son lifts anything
That aint pinned down
Just so he can compete with his mandem
On who has the best phone

She slips her hand deftly in to the strangers bag
The wallet poking out, begging to be picked
She does it to fuel her drug habit
Started by her career

Jazzle, turns down the glamour modelling offer
2 grand to get her kit off seems tempting but
She refuses coz she is rich in integrity
Ragz, turns down a clash,
Publicity to increase record sales,
He refuses coz hating only make you poorer.
This is the reinvention.

Evils of Money / Comeback

Money is societies dirtz
The ways of getting it are just as bad
There aint no honest way when your 19
And livin in LDN, where the endz u rep
Determines what you do to get P
Central peeps use sex,
South use weaps
North use drugs,
East true gangster thugs
West use robbery
In London this is just our commodity
Some of us try to make our living in an honest way
Like trying to break into the music scene
Or even flaunting what we got for magazines
But we are trying but the demand for the next big ting is what turns us
So as we sit in our yards, ways of making money come to mind
Prostitution, benefit fraud, A/Cs, shotting weed,
Robbing yards, shotting da PS3 and TV
All to pay for the new Ipod, or freshest crepes
Champagne, silk sheets or VIP tables for top clubs
Females selling their bodies to get dough
Men using the wifeys to do the drug running
Fathers telling sons to rob banks instead of hitting the bitch
Just coz she wont pick up the draw at 4
Mothers telling daughters to put more clothes on
Not knowing its all gonna come off just so she can get a pack of fags
Brothers and sisters getting stabbed and shanked
For their phones and oyster cards.
Some of us like Ragz and Jazzle
Aim for the stars from the gutter
Constantly graftin making sure they aint stereotyped
Just coz their age and professions
Its time for a revolution and
This is the reinvention….

What would you do to get a million quid?
Sleep with somebody famous and file a paternity suit
Rob a bank
Sell your soul trying to sell drugs
Marry someone old enough to be your grandparent
Take part in an A/C
This is what most kids would do living
In London and broke.
All committing crime just to
Wear designer clothes and have the latest gadgets
Whilst fuelling a wild party lifestyle,
Sex weed and booze
EMA spent on JD and fags
But people like Jazzle and Ragz
Try to earn a living in the honest way
Whilst trying to get off benefits
And on to the road of fame.
But that leads to even more temptation
Having to buy the finest bling
And having to avoid getting into debt
Coz everyone is doing coke and that’s a
Grand a gram, The temptation to car jack
Grows when your passing a rolls Royce phantom
Looking at the cash machine in horror when you see ,
Your balance in over draft, even if it is 49 p
Your flashing back to when you had over 5 grand in your account
Just last week, your mind reels when you price up
Your over excited shopping spree,
A grand and a half on upgrading your man,
A weekend away to see your nan and go clubbing - £400
£600 in Ann Summers
2 grand on refurbishing the flat in Ikea
£500 on going on dates.
You don’t realise how quick it goes
And when your broke sitting in a cold yard
You think damn if I only spent that money wiser
Then you think Money is evil and as you start a fresh week
Graftin, you feel this is the reinvention.

Social Comment - The youth today

Lets look at the youth of today. Thier culture surrounds life on the streets, Jeremy Kyle and the degradation of women. Yes I am talking about a majority and excuse me if you are one of the minority of the youth of today in London. The majority wear Jogging bottoms that hang below the buttocks, hoodies and new era caps, the females wear clothes that would only seem fit in a gym or a strip club. What is fashionable in the catwalk gets so distorted to the rags that they adorn our streets with. It disgusts me how the fashoin of today has slipped so poorly since the seventies. A woman should look like a lady not a prostitute on her day off and the men should look respectable not like thugs. I tried a social experiment of my own, taking one of these males. Binning his former attire and I went shopping. Swapping the dark clothes for bright and cheerful colours, and swapping jogging bottoms for jeans. This worked amazingly and forced him to raise in his social standing amoungst his friends. My only downfall was his attitude. So disrespectful and demeaning. The music he listens to is partly to blame, it is labeled as Grime. This music is like a more street and underground version of Rap. The language is foul and makes Vickey Pollard look well mannered and respectable. It is all about violence and insinuating that women are sexual objects that have no feelings and are mens play things. So naturally sex with one of these men is not pleasant and very selfish, its just straight out doggy style with hair pulling and spanking, the post sex is just as awful, its finishing his duty on the females face/breast or arse. Then just leaving her to clean up. No romance or respect, just the gorging of his self centered lust. These men are violent too, as if that wasn't hard to guess. The rise of domestic violence in young couples is on the rise along with teenage pregnancies. This violence shockingly is very animalistic, not content with slaps or punches, they extend it to using whatever is at hand, whether its a remote, knife and even just boiled water. They do this pertly so the woman is their 'bitch', and so they can feel masculine. This is appalling the way they think and the use of Marajuana is extensive. This causes them to be paraniod and heavily dependant, as it is the only drug they can afford and won't destroy them as much as other drugs like crack and cocaine. I hope that this is just a phase that young people go through and not a prediction of what the world will be like in 10 years time. I am appalled at the state of the world today and hope that there are some women out there who are young, feminists and willing to change the world today.

Plastic Gangster

Just coz you listen to Wiley and Skepta,
don’t think your hard,
Bopping your head to Devlin
not seeing how deep his lines are
and when your bunning your L head
your telling me to make my love go down
like Plan B.
honey just coz you listen to
the music and dress like a hood rat,
it don’t mean jack shit,
Coz u write like an illiterate dickhead, unable to spell
and chat breeze like some scummy chav
don’t show me you’re a man,
just you’re a pussy hole, trying to act big
Bet you aint ever been stabbed, held a shank
or even felt the heavy weight of a shotty in your hand
You can say your mandem will back you in beef
but you don’t know any proper gangsters
I just have to compare you to the Krays and
the Richardson’s to see you aint nothing but a plastic gangster
a paper pushing wankster. You aint ever been on a stage
hustling to make your name,
you live with your parents, work in MaccyDs’
and left school with no GCSEs
You even hit women and act like
getting head is your god given right
Just coz your mum and sister is a beat don’t mean every
girl is a dirts. So grow some balls and try grab my attention
when you can show me you aint no plastic gangster or a paper wankster.

Aint nobody like me

I am not what you want me to be
I am not what you expect me to be
So don’t try to categorise me
Coz I will make you speak in a different key
I am amazing
I can see you agree by gazing
My skills are blazing
I’m sort of known
If your daughter doesn’t
I’m sure her boyfriend knows the way I moan
I can blow your mind with my mouth
And do things you thought were impossible
I do it all perfectly first time
There aint nothing I can’t do
I know I am exactly what you want
But I’m too amazing for you
So I am just going to swan off and
You can tag along, to watch me
Rule the world from the stage
Don’t expect me to give you my heart
It has already been destroyed
So keep back and just admire
I run this show so get back in place
And let me spray this shit like mace
Don’t try to get up in my face
coz I’ll get you evicted from this place
Yes I am a bitch,
beautiful, intelligent, talented cool honey
Don’t waste my time, if you aint got the money
I aint trying to be funny, just a real deal
If this comes across as arrogant
then understand I have reason to be
yes at times I do display modesty
please just don’t fuck with me
coz I will ruin your name
and with all my talents I will put you to shame
So you best remember my name
otherwise I will tattoo it on your brain

One shot

I sit still o the still
A rolled up cigarette in my hand
gazing as dusk settles
I reflect on the idea of one shot
The way we have one shot at life
one shot to achieve our dreams
one shot at a second chance
one shot at leading a true honest life
One filled with pain, struggle and errors
Also one filled with joy, triumph and corrections
tears stream down my face
I think about the hardships I have endured
also how no matter what I do things don’t go my way
I realise this is my one shot at happiness
I haven’t used it correctly
As my cigarette draws to an end
I flick it away
wishing I could do the same with the negativity surrounding me
and the negativity I created for what I thought was right
All the lives I have touched with my kisses to their souls
some blessing and enriching
Some destructive and needless
I blame my pride and arrogance
To proud to be honest about how every night lying next to Matthew
I chanted silently ‘ I love Matt’ a thousand times
just to keep away my nightly mutterings
Too proud to be honest to both of our families
that everything was not as perfect as we made it seem
So I let him punish my body with his fist, feet and harsh words
Believing I am in the wrong
that I deserve this everyday
I let the words ‘I love you’ ‘stop this’ act as a plaster
even to my ears this is hollow
I pray every time we fuck
I will get pregnant
so this stops and we can carry on like before
Before I ruined our relationship on the kitchen table
Some mistakes cannot be repaired
that was one
another was going back
letting the cycle of violence continue
Simply because I naively believed everything would change
That we could have had a second chance at happiness
All the money, time and energy I spent didn’t help
I allowed it to happen
I thought love could sort it all
heal us
if I am as smart as I make out to be
maybe just maybe it would have been better to move on
Deliberately making myself small
giving him power was not the answer
I should practise what I preach
learning from the past
foolish arrogance got in the way
Wanting to be loved in anyway
got me nearly murdered
Today I still wish he had killed me
So I didn’t have to struggle,
so I didn’t have to deliver justice
so I didn’t have to cry alone in my room
a million miles from home
I have no home
so how can I be a million miles from it
with no one to love, trust and feel free to be honest around
I am lost in my own despair
in my own disillusioned warped world
feeling the constant need to be strong, not to cry and be full of life
I realise now everyone can see through me
They can see I am not as strong and brave
just very vulnerable
I hate myself
for being to proud
to be human
I am destructible, scared and lonely
To the point I can be around my friends
still feeling detached, alone and unemotional
I must get out of this before it is too late
before I pour my soul onto the stage
becoming a performing nothingness
alas it is too late
I have done it now
like everything else in life I must pay the price
Forgive me
I must leave
resigning myself to fate
maybe death

I am what you made me

Nature vs. nurture
lets look at my nature that you carelessly nurtured
Never being able to settle, constantly running and hiding
you enhanced it by forcing me to push everyone away
when anyone gets close enough to scratch the surface now
I run and don’t stop
I try to stay still but my moulded instinct takes over
I flee regretting it every time
My creative expression was one you tried to crush
but it was me
So I try to write constantly
there are time I cease writing when I feel like a fraud
whining I have writers block
when I just feel hollow, empty, used, abused and disposed of
my aggression was one you nurtured with the belt, slipper and cruel words
everyday was a battle
Until I was torn off the field
shown the path of gentleness
When I reach the edge of my temper
the lessons you taught me shine through like a blazing flame
Another is I kept quiet and tiptoed around to avoid being the victim
when I burst outside I transform
from meek and mild to bold and eccentric
Both feel fraudulent
at 19 I must resign to the fact that you nurtured my nature
no matter what I do I cant escape my past
It makes me sick that I am nothing but a toy
to you and the world
Its too late to rebuild and start afresh
I am what you made me
Nature vs. nurture
and all that bullshit

Moving On - Poem

I want to leave the past behind
No more JSA, Crisis Loans, violence
The struggle to make ends meet on a daily basis
The feelings of loneliness, inadequacy and fear of what tomorrow may bring
I sit patiently and wait for answers
I need blood confirmation
Will I be able to move on?
Will I be trapped by my past?
If I am trapped, my next question is
do I murder half of myself created in love?
I know I will have to visit my past to reveal my answers
To kill a life to move on with one
to kill a life to achieve my dreams
so young, so full of promise and questions of morality and ethics
Would I bear to see him through the eyes of another?
To love unconditionally without resentment and grief?
Bile settles in my throat in anticipation
He knows it is his
will his paranoia let him se the truth?
I cannot bear to kill a shared dream
But I cannot move foreword and fulfil my own dreams
I want to curl up and forget this lingering question
but it screams to me physically
Not yet 20 and nearly a mother
Can I be strong enough to struggle to feed and look after something so small and defenceless like myself?
The first time in my life I pray for guidance
I need a hand to hold, arms to embrace me and an adult to tell me its going to be ok
Just give me the answer and let me move on
please god

Home - A poem

Home
A place where you hang your hat?
Where your heart is?

If so I have no home
I am not homeless
Just a nomad

Travling is in my nature from birth
Moving from place to place
no stability really

The itch of exploration
needs scratching,
I must move on
never there for too long

I leave a trace of myself behind
My name
An object
A memory
A tear not yet dried, or realised
a smell

Jazzle
An artical of clothing/set of keys/a hair pin/an empty fag box/a reciept/a letter/a book
sitting smoking/a song/a kiss/a hug/an in depth talk/ a telling off
over a bruise/my sister/my deceased aunt/unfairness of life
Flowery/musky/freshly washed hair/smokey/morning breathe

where she at?
Where she from?
Why did she go?

Around, but don't really know
who knows, she didnt say/ if she did it was a long heartbreaking story full of pain
she said she had to move on/she couldn't stay/she didnt say

I am just a face
nothing special
A nomadic spirit

Girl got me on a cloud - EXPLICT

I kiss your soft feminine lips.
Amazed at how natural it feels.
So right but so wrong.
You take me by the hand.
The suggestive glint in your eyes, gets me ready.
Oh those so beautiful green eyes.
We head towards the toilets.
As im lead in the cubical, I slam and lock the door.
I push you down on the seat.
I hitch my dress up to my waist,
Your hands caress the space between my stockings and suspenders.
Soft but firm. Urging me on.
I sit down on your thighs legs akimbo.
Gyrating my hips licking my lips.
I seductively let my dress straps glide down my snow white swan shoulders.
You sigh a moan of desire.
My nipples go rock solid as your breathe teases them.
Before I realise you dance your tongue around them.
I start to moan deeply.
You hoist me up and turn me so you can go wild.
I sit upon the seat, with you kissing my thighs.
My juices are starting to flow for you.
I put my legs around your neck drawing you closer.
You pull my thong aside with your teeth.
I whisper 'O wow' as you start to lap up the elixer.
As you go faster, i get louder.
I look in to those beautiful eyes and am transported.
Into a world where it is just you and I.
A beautiful pink cloud of naughtiness.
I start to scream your name.
The restroom goes quiet, everyone eagar to know who we are.
You finish as I reach my highest orgasm.
I pull you close to my lips so we can share the taste.
The sweetness and sharpness dissolve in my mouth
as our tongues entwine. I start to shiver as you stroke
the small of my uncovered back.
Your touch delicate, sensitive and understanding.
I am converted as I explore your body.
Oh so bad, I want to feel all of you.
Taking my time.
As we leave the lollipop lady winks.
Asking if I had a good time.
I blush and giggle like a school girl with you enveloping me.
The rest of the night rushes past in a hazy golden drunk blur.
As we part I can't help but leave you my heart and my sexuality.
I can not get off this cloud, come visit and show me more.
Lead me around this new world by the hand.
For only you know where to go.
Wow beautiful green eyes!

Poem - Cleanser

I sit with you nestled in my ear,
Your voice reflecting my face,
tears pouring quicker than a melted glacier.
Muttering apologies that with every breathe cleanse my soul,
I will no longer sacrafice my soul for you to be a man,
I will restore my honour and not treat myself with contradictions, double standards and false hope of change.

I will be my own teddy, punching bag and crutch.
Your harsh disrespectful words will not fall on my delicate ears and outraged heart. I will be the bigger person because I am a woman.
At least I can walk free head held high back straight chin out, free of the shackles that bound my heart and clouded my bright mind.

My tongue will be razor sharp again, so will my skin be clear and white fawless, free from your purple anger. I will be hit once and strike back with vicous torture inventiveness. I will not turn the other cheeck, degraded to a naughty child. I will rip your manhood apart with can openers, nut crackers and pizza slicers.

Once bitten twice as cruel and hell knows no fury like mine, i was more than scorned so i will shatter you like china and bring you to the level you are.

I will survive simply because I florish in escaping your sick twisted love.
I WILL SURVIVE and now i show you who i have become as a standing testimant to every woman like me from before, now and to be.

Kaiz La Kazie

OMG there is a very little known MC, who is a genius and deserves more attention than her male counter parts in that genre of music. People like Devlin, P Money, and Titchy, this girl is phenomanal on mic and off as she is a great spoken word artist (for the ignorant it means a poet). If you are wise you would download her mixtapes (god didn't realised they still existed) from . Her style is a clever mishmash of genres but fundamentally grime and soul. If you don't like the beats then you will definately fall in love with the lyrics.
