This Saturday I was down at Southbank doing some free running as you do with some friends. I surprisingly was the only girl and when we joined some other free runners, they were unsure how to percieve me but as I showed what I could do they became friendly and accepting.
We had a few minor problems with security guards, who tried to call the police to move us on and to stop us doing flips. We called thier bluff by qouting the health and safety law which states that they can advise us not to flip but it is up to us if we choose to take it or not. They then tried to tell us we were on private property, this failed as there was tourists and passers by who asked why it was private property in a public space and we argued that if a jogger had paused to gain his breathe was he tresspassing?.
The one thing I like about free running is that even if you aren't too great at it anything you do still looks great and people love to photograph anything that looks great and slightly dangerous, especially if it is in London by the Thames, who could ask for a better background.
